Quartz use in Paint & Coating Industry

Quartz/Silica Powder

The material shall be of one of two forms, crystalline or amorphous, by BIS requirements (IS: 67 - 1979). The material must be in dry powder form and have a minimum SiO2 content of 98%. SiO2 should not include more lead than 0.03%. The color and shape of the particles must match the approved specimen.

Extreme Purity For purposes such as wood finishing, primers, undercoats, water-based paints, distemper, chemical-resistant coatings, floor coatings, epoxy coating, etc., silica powder is used in the paint and coating business. Additionally, silica is recommended for external finishing and employed in building chemicals as well as for texture coating.
